I've been lurking the shadows awhile, and could use some extra input...
I know HLJ and 1999. Are there any other source to purchase gundam and
anime related kits? (also Gundam action figures. I am looking for US
Gundam action figures...but most of them seem to be sold out)

Hmm, don't think so. Those two (hlj and 1999) are pretty much where I order
my kits from.
