First off, I want to say that I saw the notice that RAAM may be
deleted. If there's anyone still out there besides the spambots I
want to say that's a little sad for me. RAAM was the first place I
really connected with other modelers and I learned a lot from it. Web
forums are nice but they're all so temporary that it makes me miss the
relative stability of a real and active newsgroup... But if it's over
then so be it. Not like I really come here much any more...
Now, for the contest announcement:
This March at mechamodelcomp.com we're having our "Federation vs.
Zeon" contest. This is a UC Gundam contest open to any MS, ship, or
vehicle from the Earth Federation or the Principality of Zeon.
Besides just having a fun model contest for bragging rights we want to
settle an important question that has always been a subject of heated
debate: which side is better? To settle the question, all entries in
the March contest must align themselves with one side or the other:
and during the first stage of the contest Federation entries will be
judged against Zeon entries until one side is eliminated. Then the
judges will pick the contest winners from among the "survivors", those
entries which made it through the first stage of the contest.
We will also be giving away some prizes: first off, we'll have a
random drawing among all entries to give away an Iwata airbrush.
Second, once we've determined which team has won, we'll pick one of
the "survivors" at random and give them a model kit as a prize. If
Zeon wins the prize will be a MG Kampfer, while if the Feddies win
it'll be a MG Groundtype Gundam.
Personally, I'm rooting for Zeon. But once all the entries are in,
we'll just see how it all goes down.
